The CNAME Record

• CNAME Records are a mapping from one DNS hostname to another.

• They are commonly called ‘aliases’.

xtime in cname trumpet.cig.mot.com.

• CNAMEs should never point to IP addresses.

• Don’t use a CNAME in other RR’s.
